Design Sale Helander offers a fine Collection of Design Classics and Rarities from Scandinavian designers and the Mid 20th Century era. The Sale consists of Items from designers such as Oiva Toikka, Alvar Aalto, Sam Vanni, Kaj Franck, etc. The Auction Categories include among other things: Art Glass, Ceramics, Furniture, Jewelry and Lighting.
The Auction will be held online starting on Friday the 18th of November at 3 p.m. and closing on Friday the 25th of November at 8 p.m. (UTC+2). In order to submit a bid, you must log in to the catalogue.
The Viewing of the Auction is open on weekdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hernepellonkuja 8–10, 00560 Helsinki. Welcome!
Please note that a Buyer’s Premium and a Hammer Fee will be added on top of the Hammer Price visible in the Catalogue. To view the Current Fees, please scroll down. There might also be some additional costs of Droit de suite added to the Lot’s hammer price. These Lots have been marked with a star *-symbol.

Artist(s) or the intellectual property right holder(s) have the right to a compensation for reselling their copyrighted material. This fee is usually called a Droit de suite, resale right or a royalty. The royalty is calculated from the sell price excluding VAT:

One artwork’s royalty may be a maximum of 12 500 euros. A royalty fee will not be collected on items under the selling price of 255 euros +VAT. Read more here.
You should pay your purchases within five (5) days after the auction has ended. You can pay for your purchases either at the Auction House or through the My Pages service.
At the Chamber, payment methods are bank and credit cards or bank transfer. Please note, that we do not accept cash or charge debit cards remotely.
From My Pages, you’ll see an invoice for your purchases after the auction. You can pay for your purchases via the service with a card or through your own online bank.
Items must be picked up / shipping ordered and paid within five (5) days of the auction.

At Helander online auctions, we apply condition grading, the purpose of which is to make it easier for prospective buyers to gain information on the condition of the lots, along with images, descriptions and possibly seeing the lots for themselves at a pre-auction viewing.
