To date, 11 works have been sold, with sales prices totaling for more than 492,000 euros in February and March 2021. Auction House Helander’s CEO and broker Mika Sirén says that the result of the auctions are an indication that customers are ready to buy more expensive works at an online auction, in addition to the traditional hammer auction.

According to Sirén, there has been a growing international demand for art and design recently: “The final price for the works reflects a clearly identifiable, growing demand for Tove Jansson’s art. The same upward trend in demand is observed for design and other high-end art, especially in international markets. We are already talking about the online auction boom, ”says Sirén.
